FAQ

Personal questions

Who is Ninbot?

Ninbot is a robot who appeared out of the blue. Nobody knows where it came from. Some say it came from outer space, others say that it came from the future, and there are even rumours that assure that it was a secret artifact ordered by the government. It has lost access to its memory and wants them back to understand where it comes from.

What does Ninbot want?

Ninbot has a purpose: it wants to become a person. It thinks that by getting emotions and have weaknesses it will find the way into its deep memories. That is no easy task for a robot, but it is now around to learn from humans. It doesn’t want to be seen as a burden, so it has pledged to show us its technology. Every day it learns new things about itself and its operating system, and gives this knowledge away at www.ninbot.tech under the GPL3 license.

What are Ninbot’s hobbies?

When everybody is sleeping Ninbot likes playing Nintendo games. It also likes shooting pictures with its Nikon camera. One of its dreams is visiting Niigata, its favourite Japanese city, in a Nissan car.

What is Ninbot’s genre?

Ninbot is a thing, an artifact. Artifacts have no genre. Its pronouns are it/its. Actually, its sensors cannot distinguish between men and women.

Is Ninbot dangerous and will it take over the world?

Mmmmh… good question indeed. Let’s ask it directly: "No, not for now".

Installation

Will it work on XX?

Although Ninbot is officially supported on Linux only, it is developed under strict ISO C++ compliance and should work on other systems as well, provided the tools used (specially the compiler) supports all the features that the source code demands.
